India's agricultural finance system disburses over ₹25 lakh crore annually. Almost all of it is underwritten on farmer declarations, paper records, and officer judgment. There is no independent verification of whether a crop exists, whether it matches the declared type, or whether the declared acreage is accurate.
Phenolens was founded to close this gap. We combine field data analysis, field-specific historical baselines, and transparent methodology to deliver verified crop intelligence in minutes per field.
Our founding team brings together expertise that is genuinely rare in Indian agri-tech: crop intelligence science, agri-science knowledge rooted in Tamil Nadu's specific crop systems, and financial risk domain understanding of how banks and insurers actually make decisions.
Our first geography is western Tamil Nadu — Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Namakkal — the cotton, groundnut, banana, coconut, and turmeric belt. This zone processes ₹3,500–4,500 crore in annual crop loan disbursals. 93% of its farmers are smallholders averaging 0.75 hectares.
